Why Morello belongs in the blend

Morello cherries have naturally red flesh as well as red skin. Their pigments include anthocyanins, the plant compounds behind much of a tart cherry's red color. That fruit chemistry is part of why we chose Morello to complement Montmorency in this concentrate.

What 68° Brix means

Brix describes the concentration of soluble solids in juice. Our tart cherry concentrate is made to a 68° Brix target, giving you concentrated flavor in a compact bottle. Brix does not directly measure antioxidant content. Visit our Brix guide for a practical explanation.

How we handle your bottle

1. Flash pasteurized upstream: the concentrate has been pasteurized before it reaches FruitFast's bottling process.
2. Cold-filled at FruitFast: we fill this 32 fl oz concentrate without reheating it for bottling.
3. Nitrogen flushed before sealing: this helps reduce oxygen in the bottle headspace.
4. Refrigerated until shipment: finished bottles stay cold in our facility.

Should I drink it at night or during the day?

How many servings are in a bottle?

A 32 fl oz bottle contains 32 full 1 fl oz servings. That is 32 days at one serving daily, or 16 days at two servings daily. Adding water changes the drink's strength, not the number of concentrate servings.

How much water should I add?

Start with 1 fl oz of concentrate and about 7 fl oz of water. Add more water for a lighter drink or less for a bolder cherry flavor. At that 1:7 ratio, the whole bottle makes approximately 2 US gallons. See our mixing guide.

Does no added sugar mean sugar-free?

No. The concentrate contains the cherries' naturally occurring sugars. The current Nutrition Facts label lists 70 calories, 14 g total sugar, and 0 g added sugar per 1 fl oz serving. Check the label when planning your portion.

Is this Montmorency or Morello cherry concentrate?

What does 68° Brix tell me?

It describes the concentrate's soluble-solids level. It helps explain its concentrated character and how it can be diluted. It is not an antioxidant score. Our Brix guide explains the measurement.

Why does it ship without cold packs?

How should I store an opened bottle?

Keep it refrigerated and use within about 6 months for best quality, while following the bottle's best-by date and label directions. Shake before measuring because natural settling can occur. Concentrated juice may stay soft rather than freezing completely solid in a household freezer.

The fruit behind the research

Tart cherries contain anthocyanins and other polyphenols that have attracted interest in food and nutrition research. Anthocyanins are natural pigments that contribute to the fruit's red color. Our fruit compound library is a starting point for understanding these compounds.

Montmorency, Morello, and natural fruit pigments

Montmorency is an Amarelle-type tart cherry, with red skin and pale flesh. Morello types have red flesh as well as red skin. You can read this distinction in Iowa State University Extension's cherry cultivar guide.

Research comparing cherry cultivars has found higher anthocyanin levels in many Morello types, with levels varying by cultivar and growing season. A 2026 study of eleven tart cherry cultivars provides one example. These findings help explain interest in deeply pigmented cherries; they do not establish an antioxidant amount or a comparative health benefit for a current bottle of FruitFast.
